Cala San Nicola

The area of Punta San Nicola is not only of historical and archaeological interest, but is also characterised by a series of coves and inlets of particular beauty. Suitable for everyone, it is easily accessible from the town centre thanks to a convenient asphalted road.

Cala San Nicola has been Favignana's first port since Punic times. This ancient harbour has always been used to shelter small boats. In the 1930s, during the period of the 'tonnara' (tuna fishery), the 'varcazze' (tuna boats) were sometimes laid up. In the centre of this ancient harbour we can observe a cave with some graffiti dating back to the Palaeolithic and Neolithic periods, located a stone's throw from the sea.

The area is also served by a Beach Club. Click here for more information
