Path 4: Cala Fumere - Cala Trapanese

After the factory, at the foot of Mount S. Caterina, you are in Cala Fumere where it is advisable to take a bath. The path, easy at the beginning, later becomes more challenging. Arrived at the small beach of white gravel, called "Acqua duci", hidden among the bushes there is a first cave to visit, the Grotta del Pirale.
Continuing, after Punta Mussazzo, on the left, among the shrubs, opens up the Ficara Cave, reachable through a short path, just marked among the vegetation. Taking the path, among plants and shrubs of the Mediterranean, you reach the Oriental Grotto, a large and articulated cave with small entrance. This is an archaeological area of great interest for the remains of human skeletons found in the cave, attributed, perhaps, to Homo erectus. From here you can see, in the distance, the Punta Faraglione with the Cala Trapanese. The route becomes difficult and is recommended only for experts.
