SEAShell Musical-visual odyssey
Musical-visual odyssey
"The rivus and the river pass, the sea passes and remains. So one should love, faithful and fugitive. I marry the sea." (Albert Camus)
Seashell is a musical-visual performance presented for the first time at the iconic Paradise of Amsterdam. It is the result of the artist’s experimental journey through the multiple natures of sound, through the exploration of different media and artistic languages. The combination of acoustic and digital sounds that creates a sound mass, recalls the oscillating motion of the sea, with cyclic pulsations and cadences "that pass and remain ... faithful and fleeting". The beat and the breath are intertwined with grainy and liquid sounds, stories and songs (re)produced on stage with a variety of natural materials and musical instruments, acoustic and electronic. The name Seashell is inspired by the shell, shell of sea creatures, whose symbolism evokes hospitality and shelter. Its spiral shape is an invocation to the periodicity, to the continuous repetition and updating of canons, traditions and myths, in a cycle of infinite regeneration.
